The Center for the Study of Contemporary India at Kyoto University (KINDAS) was launched on 1 April 2010 with the aim of furthering our understanding of contemporary India through interdisciplinary studies. It will conduct a research program 'Contemporary India Area Studies' in collaboration with National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU). We will serve as the Hub Research Center for the national INDAS network which consists of six Research Centers located at Kyoto University, The University of Tokyo, Hiroshima University, National Museum of Ethnology, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Ryukoku University.
